How Ron Weasley viewed the new movie. Last month, we brought you a feature of Mr. Potte’rs take on the new Movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. We’ve sat down with Mr. Ron Weasley for HIS viewpoint on the new muggle film. The Quibbler: Well, Mr. Weasley, how are you doing? Ron Weasley: Fine. TQ: Thanks for talking with us. RW: Sure. Glad you asked. TQ: So…what did you think? RW: About what? TQ: Er…the new movie… RW: Oh! I thought it was brilliant, the way it looked and all…but…I was also like “what am I DOING?—I mean, of course, what was the ACTOR doing? I don’t act that way!” TQ: With regards to what? RW: What? TQ: With regards to what part—what WAS that actor doing? RW: I know! That’s how I felt!!! TQ: Uh…moving on…What did you like most about the movie? RW: Quidditch. TQ: That was a rather short scene. RW: But it was brilliant! TQ: Any parts you didn’t like? RW: Let’s see…that business with the Dementors brought up some pretty bad memories…oh…and that stuff with Malfoy…I can’t stand him, even if it IS another guy playing him…and all my fights with Hermione. None of them is as good as what I REALLY said. And Scabbers…the guy who he turned out to be was creepy, but it wasn’t as dramatic as the real thing—I mean, that rat slept in my bed! They got the Marauders wrong too…and the part where Harry gets in trouble with Snape…Lupin didn’t really save him, I did…and they left out where I was almost killed…that was pretty sad cuz it was pretty important in the real thing…and there was a whole bunch of Harry and Hermione stuff at the end that they told me didn’t happen…I mean, Hermione wouldn’t say she was scared…not like that! And they made me look like I didn’t know what was going on half the time when I actually do…and I actually don’t whine or look so scared. And my leg was REALLY broken, it kinda looked only a bit hurt in the “mo-vee”…and who said I would ever COPY ANYTHING Malfoy would say? Then there’s that part where I was said that Hermione was a know-it-all…I mean, I do think she’s a know-it-all, but I wouldn’t agree with Snape…and… TQ: Um…let me rephrase…was there any part of the movie you DID like? RW: Quidditch. TQ: Right. Okay, well, there were some cute foreshadowing parts between the actor who plays you and the actress who plays Hermione. Was that anything like real life? RW: Fore-what? TQ: They hinted at your two liking each other…you know, the hand clasp, that hug towards the end… RW: WHAT? Of COURSE NOT! WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT? TQ: Because it seemed to be a bit obvious… RW: OBVIOUS! ITS NOT OBVIOUS OF ANYTHING!!! TQ: Uh…do you need some water? RW: THERE’S NOTHING OBVIOUS AT ALL! TQ: O-kay! Um…did you approve of how they handled the “Scabbers” storyline? RW: …. TQ: Mr. Weasley? RW: obvious… TQ: Mr. Weasley! RW: Er…Sorry! Umm…well, yeah, he was actually brilliant. Certainly as creepy as the real thing. You know, muggle movies really are rather amazing. I felt like I was almost there. Harry kept telling me to lower my wand, because I really wanted to defend myself at times. TQ: Were there any parts of the movie you found touching or moving? RW: The Sirius parts were, but that was only because I had Harry and Hermione next to me. They were both crying, though Harry was trying to hide it. B’cause of what happened, of course—I mean, well, what will happen in the movie about what just happened…I mean… TQ: I think we understand. Harry did mention that he’d met with his actor a few times and that he’d had the opportunity (he hoped) to inspire him. Have you met with your muggle actor? RW: Uh…yes, a few times. He’s really nice. TQ: Did you speak to him about the part? RW: Not…so much. I did back when he was in the first movie, but… TQ: We heard you had a few mishaps with memory charms? RW: Yeah…They’re not my best subject. So I suppose he’ll have to do what he can, from now on…I don’t really want to turn him into Lockhart…you know, the obliviated version… TQ: How have they portrayed your family situation, so far? RW: Pretty well, actually. Percy, the Twins, and Ginny are all really spot on, although Ginny WAS disappointed she didn’t get but a few looks and five words this time ‘round. My Dad’s a bit more of an egg-head than they make him in the “movie”…but the lady who plays my Mum…she’s really rather good. Though my mum is much scarier than she could ever be. TQ: As we’re sure you know, they’re planning on making Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire… RW: Yeah, actually, they’re already filming it. TQ: Right. Anything you’re excited to see about the newest film? RW: The Quidditch World Cup! That’ll be brilliant! TQ: Of course. Anything else? RW: Actually, I hope they put in the row between me and Harry…that’s rather important, too. And the Second Task, because I got to help out there. TQ: The Yule ball? RW: What ABOUT the Yule Ball? TQ: Er…nothing. Do you think it will make things easier, watching for the first time what Harry actually went through with the resurrection of You Know Who? RW: I suppose it will depend on how they do it, but, yeah, I suppose it will make it a bit more real for Hermione and me. But we’ve also read about it, of course…and we’ve been friends with the guy who lived through it. This might sound a bit odd…but even though we weren’t there, we were there, you know? No matter what they put onto film or paper, there is nothing that can compare, other than being there, of course, than watching your friend suffer. I just hope the next time something like that happens, I can be there to help him. TQ: I’m sure you will be, Mr. Weasley. Thank you so much, it’s been a pleasure, and enjoy your summer! RW: You better bloody believe it! I’m off to Quidditch practice now! |
