For years, the institution known as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has been considered a bastion of security for young witches and wizards in training. But lately, the school has come under attack, to catastrophic consequences. It appears that Hogwarts is no longer safe--and that those who guard the school are responsible. In the past five years, numerous attacks have occurred on school grounds of which the public has been unaware. Not only is this alarming, it is downright infuriating for parents of the young students, who have not known of the dangers their children are facing. The problem, apparently, lies with Albus Dumbledore, the so-called "most powerful wizard of his time." In the past five years, he has allowed You-Know-Who to penetrate security three times, and the infamous "Prisoner-of-Azkaban", Sirius Black, four. And perhaps most alarming of all, he covered up the death of a student from the general wizarding populace, just so students could return with a "peace of mind" to the school. Peace of mind? How can a child of twelve possibly be expected to hide the death of a friend and collegue with a smile? These are children, not full-grown wizards. And their lives have been in danger--more than once. They are still in danger today. Are we to be expected to allow this to continue? All parents want their children to be safe, and happy. The students at Hogwarts are neither. The infamous "Prisoner of Azkaban", also known as Sirius Black. Now deceased. In order to protect them in this now dangerous and difficult time, it would seem that we have to take drastic measures. Though he has saved them in the past, Dumbledore seems to be causing more of a problem than combatting it. Perhaps it is time to consider whether HE is no longer safe, so that our children can be. |
