Who's Behind the Magic?
Actor profiles

Our very own Harry Potter is famous in two worlds-- the wizarding world, obviously, and the muggle world. The wizarding world is magic in itself, but in the muggle world, there are actual people--children teenagers behind the magic.

Young, but experienced, actor Daniel Radcliffe, 14, portrays the famous Harry Potter. Born on 23 July 1989, he is a Cancer/Leo, and according to the renowned Sibyll Trelawney, Divination professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it means that he is impossible to miss, since people under the same star sign love being center stage and it's quite common to see a Leo on stage or in Hollywood since these type of folks never shy away from the limelight. This is quite apparent in that Radcliffe has been acting since the age of 10 in his first ever film, David Copperfield, in which he plays the character by the same name. His hometown is Fulham, England and though he is seen without glasses on the red carpet, he actually does need glasses, but chooses not to wear them! He has brown hair and blue eyes and likes punk rock music, viewing films, and the colors yellow and blue.

Ronald Billius Weasley, Harry Potter's best friend and sidekick, is played by muggle actor Rupert Grint, 15. Grint was born on 24 August 1988, making him a Leo. Professor Trelawney tells us that Leos are mostly related to lions, so, like his character, Grint is opinionated and set in his ways. However, this redhead isn't similar to Weasley only through astrological symbolism-- he has a large family as well; he is the oldest of five children. His role as Ron Weasley was his first in the filming industry, but his newfound acting talents are those that the muggles have come to value, so it is quite reasonable to assume that we will see him on the silver screen even after his days on Potter are through. His hometown is Hertfordshire, England. Grint has red hair and blue eyes, likes rap music, drawing, football (soccer), swimming, and cycling, and is afraid of bats as well as spiders, just like Ron Weasley.

As we all know, Harry Potter's world outside Hogwarts is dangerous as he is hunted by the Dark Lord daily, and even worse, his cruel aunt, uncle, and cousin wish him nothing but the worst. So how could we possibly imagine Potter's world in Hogwarts could be any better? Muggle actor Tom Felton, 16, plays the role of Hogwarts badboy Draco Malfoy. Malfoy is fowl, loathesome, envious, and rather immature. He is hurtful and cruel and has very nice hair. Fortunately, the muggle actor isn't exactly like Malfoy... not that there's anything wrong with him... Felton was born on 22 September 1987, making him a Virgo. Trelawney offers that Virgos are noted for their modesty and humanity and are the types of people who like to be exact and certain and the types of people who live to serve. Clearly, Felton is a nice chap, and though muggle 'fans' have been noted to run away, cry, and cower under his presence, he smiles and nods, claiming that that effect from fans (young and old) only proves that his portrayal of the dastardly Draco Malfoy is quite exact, and that's the way Virgos like it: exact. Felton's hometown is Surrey, England. He has brown hair and pale blue eyes, enjoys rap and hip hop music, carp fishing, football (soccer), basketball, swimming, and singing.

As seen in the books, a group of boys always needs at least one female to make sure things don't get too out of hand, and this is where Emma Watson, 14, steps in, portraying Harry Potter's other best friend and potential love interest, Hermione Granger. Born on 15 April 1990, she is an Aries, which makes her first in line to get things going, Trelawney says. Aries are a bundle of energy and dynamism. Like Watson claims, she is a bit like her character, Hermione Granger, as she can be quite bossy and overbearing at times. Her hometown is Oxfordshire, England. She has dirty blonde hair and brown eyes and her role as the renowned know-it-all was her first acting role in the entertainment industry in the muggle world. She likes hockey, tennis, and rounders and is into pop music, a type of bouncy muggle music.
