A letter to the readers...

Dear Kind Sirs (or Madams):

I must just respond to something that has been very troubling to me as of late. I have noticed that in not one, but TWO issues of The Quibbler, wizards have been criticizing muggle involvement in the Wizarding World—first, with their “knowledge” of our habits, then, by wearing clothes that imitate us.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with the muggle world knowing of the existence of wizards. As your paper proves, some muggles take a hearty interest in Wizarding affairs—but the wizarding world has not yet been eliminated because of it. In fact, the muggles seem to respect us, and find our lives fascinating (of course, they have no idea that they’re the ones who are fascinating).

What does it matter if the muggles know a part of our story? What difference is it if they dress like us, talk like us—even try to write like us? By allowing them access to our world, we can show them what we’re really like—and in return, they will accept us, and allow us access to their lives.

I believe that muggle-friendly gestures are what will eventually stave these feelings of prejudice so many of my pure-blood acquaintances seem bent on harboring. Once we are able to discover more about who they are, and what they’ve had to struggle with, we will find that they are really just another half of the same galleon—and that we compliment one another, just like a two-tyne fork into an ecklectrik socket.

I hope that my brethren will someday come to appreciate muggles for what they really are—fascinating. And I hope that The Quibbler will be kind enough to print my letter, allowing other wizards to know that not everyone despises muggles, muggle moviemakers, or muggle knowledge of our world.

Sincerely,
Concerned and Fascinated
