Blogging the Day Away
Celebrity Blogs keep fans, news sites up-to-date on the HP film world.

London, UK—Celebrities are popping up in unlikely places.

The past few months have seen an influx of a new way for muggle actors to communicate with their fans—the web log, or “blog” for short.

Though “blogs” have been around for a long while, muggle celebrities have recently discovered that they are great ways to keep in touch with their fans—without compromising anonymity.

Harry Potter film stars Tom Felton, Devon Murray, and Jamie Waylett have all launched online diaries at their personal websites (for those wizards who are confused, think of the “web” as an owlery gone mad) to provide fans with updates as to their lives and the status of filming.

“They’re wonderful, absolutely WONDERFUL!” shrieks (literally) Wilma Pendergast, a muggle fan of Tom Felton. “Tom showed us his balloons! I feel like he’s writing to me personally!”

So does Kip Kirpatrick, another fan out of Devonshire. “He is so informal, it's obvious he means to speak to people personally. I personally wrote to him on his website and wished him a happy birthday—I’m certain his thank you was for me! I’m going to marry him!”

[The Quibbler would like to insert a personal apology to Ms. Kirpatrick; the Quibbler editor who attacked you claiming “he’s mine, you little red-headed fool!” has been restrained and will possibly be committed to St. Mungos, the ward for Obsessive and Compulsive disorders, if not the wing devoted to Illusions of Grandeur.] Though the blogs are a newer feature, websites created by actors have been a longstanding occurrence, and have served as news vehicles for the more well-known news sites devoted to Harry Potter.

Celebrities such as Chris Rankin, Sean Biggerstaff, and Matthew Lewis run their own personal websites; slightly more well known stars, such as the trio of actors who portray the trio, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, have fansites devoted to them, which they support.

Though most celebrity blogs are not updated daily (due to rapidly changing production schedules, etc), actors do try to keep fans abreast of the newest occurrences in their lives when they can.

The Quibbler will continue to update the status of all Harry Potter celebrities, and any new web logs, that might arise.
